whatmodel.sh / GPT-3 2.7B (Brown et al. 2020 paper model)

GPT-3 2.7B (Brown et al. 2020 paper model) is a closed-weights language model from OpenAI, released May 2020. Its published size is 2.7B parameters. Licence: proprietary.

Catalogue identity notes

The research checkpoint 'GPT-3 2.7B' of OpenAI's GPT-3 paper (Brown et al., arXiv:2005.14165, Table 2.1: 2.7B parameters, 300B training tokens). Weights never released. Deliberately NOT merged with the API engines (gpt-3-ada/babbage/curie/davinci): OpenAI never officially stated which paper size each API engine is (AI21's Jurassic-1 white paper calls the mapping an estimate and notes the API may be 'a slightly different set of models'). Comparison-only.

Each result implies a score on its own, after adjusting for how hard its test is and who ran it. The score is their weighted average, with a small pull toward the middle for thinly tested models. Each test's weight is its counts column above; here it's added up by who ran the tests. How it works
